These changes taking effect in July will result in an increase of approximately 6.5% for First Class mail. Earlier this year, we notified you that under new authority granted by the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC), the United States Postal Service was considering issuing a mid-year postal rate increase.
On May 28, the rate increase moved closer to reality when the USPS filed a relatively large rate increase request with the PRC.
